This weekend it’s all about dad, but showering dad with love doesn’t mean you have to spend a ton of money. Here are some freebies and activities that will make this weekend extra special and affordable.

  1. Dad will benefit when kids take the Free Junior Chef Class at Williams Sonoma. Offered every Saturday, this week’s theme is Father’s Day Fun. Great for kids ages 5-13.
  2. Saturday at 11 a.m. it’s a free Barnes and Noble Father’s Day Storytime featuring How to Surprise a Dad and How to Babysit a Grandpa
  3. Dad’s can visit your local Home Depot for a free workshop on how to build a grilling cart this Saturday, 11 a.m. at some locations.
  4. Dozens of zoos are offering free admission for dad’s this Sunday including Zoo Atlanta, Montgomery Zoo, The Zoo Oklahoma City, Columbus Zoo and San Francisco Zoo.
  5. Not to be outdone, many museums are also letting dad in for free including children’s museums, science centers and aquariums. Typically free admission is granted with the purchase of a child’s admission.
  6. Making it a movie night? Get a free 1-day DVD rental from Redbox.
