Crafty & Delicious Mardi Gras Party Ideas for Kids

Celebrate Fat Tuesday on Feb. 17 with a kid-friendly Mardi Gras party that’s both crafty and delicious. This New Orleans themed celebration will include free printables, easy recipes and fun crafts for the kids.

Table Decor

We used a purple plastic tablecloth so that the kids could do their crafts without worry. For the centerpiece, glue our printable to sticks. We used an inexpensive colorful decor piece from the party store as our base. We placed it inside a small glass vase and then added the sticks. A glittery face mask finished the piece.

Mardi Gras is all about color so use yellow, purple and green to create a festive place setting.

To rim glass, dab vanilla frosting around the top and roll in colored sprinkles. Add this to the glass prior to serving and after refrigeration as it might dissolve if left in refrigerator.

Preheat oven 350°F. Line muffin cups with cupcake liners. Mix together icing ingredients to form a thick but pourable topping. Set aside.

In a small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon. Open the package of biscuits and slice each in to 4 quarters. Form the quarters into balls.

Roll in melted butter and the sprinkle with sugars mixture. Place 4 each in a muffin tin.

Bake for 20 minutes or until rich golden on top but not crispy. Remove from oven and spoon frosting over each. As it melts sprinkle with yellow, purple and green icing sugar.
